OSLO.-The National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design opened the exhibit Løvaas & Wagle through August 17. Astrid Løvaas and Kirsten Wagle's collaboration has become one of the most distinguished collectives in Norwegian contemporary art. Using untraditional materials like used wool blankets, nylon stockings, raincoats, socks, and knitted hats as their starting point, Løvaas & Wagle create tapestries that are visually captivating, beautiful, surprising, and rich in references to art historical sources.
Løvaas & Wagle have also completed a number of public commissions. This exhibition is the most extensive presentation of their collaboration, and shows works from different historical phases of their practice, as well as some brand new works.
