Elisabeth Murdoch Appointed Tate Trustee
LONDON.- The Prime Minister has today appointed Elisabeth Murdoch as a Tate Trustee. Her term of appointment will be for four years from 18 August 2008.

Elisabeth Murdoch will bring to the board exceptional expertise from a leading career in the media. Ms Murdoch is Chair and Chief Executive of The Shine Group, an independent media company which she founded in 2001 to produce and distribute film and television programmes. Educated primarily in the United States, her early career was with American television broadcasting companies. Ms Murdoch then joined BSkyB, where she helped to launch Sky Digital, remaining with the broadcaster as Managing Director until 2000 when she decided to concentrate on an independent media venture.

Ms Murdoch is a member of the UK Film Council, sitting on the Board of Directors.
