Call for 2009 Hunting Art Prize Entries
HOUSTON.- Hunting PLC, an international oil services company, has announced the call for entries for the 29th annual Hunting Art Prize, an arts competition in which established, emerging, and amateur artists throughout Texas vie for a $50,000 award.

Interested artists must be Texas residents and 18 years of age by August 1, 2008. Those wishing to enter must submit a single two-dimensional painting or drawing that is no larger than 72 inches by 72 inches.

To participate, artists must sign up using the electronic form at http://www.huntingartprize.com and upload one digital image of their artwork in a JPEG format. All entries must be submitted no later than midnight, Sunday November 30, 2008.

Entries will be judged according to a two-tiered jury process. After submissions have been reviewed to ensure compliance with contest rules, a panel of jurors will evaluate the digital files and select individuals to move on to Jury II. Those chosen will be asked to submit the original artwork represented by their digital file for consideration.

The panel will then select the winning piece, which will be announced at the 2009 Hunting Art Prize gala on May 2 in Houston.

After 25 years in the United Kingdom, where it became one of Great Britain's top art competitions, the prize relocated to Houston in 2006. Its $50,000 award is the most generous annual prize for artists in North America.

For further information on the Hunting Art Prize, including further details on eligibility and submission requirements, go to http://www.huntingartprize.com.
