Haughton International Fairs Announces Art Antiques Design Dubai
DUBAI.- Haughton International Fairs are delighted to announce that the second edition of Art Antiques Design Dubai will take place from Wednesday 18th February-Sunday 22nd February, 2009, at the Madinat Arena, Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai, UAE.

International art, antiques and design dealers will participate in the 2009 fair, organised by London-based fair organisers, Haughton International Fairs, under the patronage of His Excellency Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Owais, UAE Minister of Culture, Youth & Community Development and with the support and cooperation of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing.

Haughton International Fairs have been art fair organisers for close to 30 years, today putting together no fewer than four major events annually in New York City and one in London. In February 2008 they launched the Dubai fair, the first top flight art, antiques and design event to take place in the region, offering a wide range of works of art from historic to contemporary and including items of Western, Middle Eastern and Far Eastern origin, among them furniture, silver and jewellery, paintings, drawings and prints, carpets and textiles, porcelain and pottery, maps, books, manuscripts and photographs.

AAD Interiors/1stdibs.com - Building on the success of Art and Antiques Dubai in 2008, the 2009 fair acknowledges the exciting growth of interest in “design” in the region. Art Antiques Design Dubai in partnership with 1st dibs.com, the premier online marketplace for antiques, vintage furniture and 20th century design will present for the first time AAD Interiors, a new concept at Art Antiques Design Dubai. AAD Interiors will incorporate two sets of professionally designed and executed room settings making four interlocking rooms in total -- showcasing traditional and modern furnishing styles.

1st dibs.com will team with designer and architect Stephen Miller Siegel who will oversee the design using pieces from member dealers of The Art and Antique Dealers League of America, Inc (AADLA) , and the exhibiting dealers at Art Antiques Design Dubai. Stephen Miller Siegel is a high profile, New York based interior designer who regularly works with the many of the AADLA dealers to furnish homes and spaces for his clients, who include former Ambassador Cejas, Stephen Schwartzman, and the world headquarters for The Blackstone Group in New York City. Amongst other prominent clients and projects, Stephen will be featured in the January issue of Town & Country Magazine with an 8 page spread of an apartment he designed for the publication as part of the Hearst show house, Designer Visions. The AADLA is the oldest and principal antiques and fine arts organization in America with over 100 fine art and antiques dealers in 80 fields of expertise

Launched by Web entrepreneur Michael Bruno in 2001, 1st dibs.com is the world’s most searched online marketplace for antique, vintage and contemporary furniture, connecting interior designers and collectors with galleries and dealers from around the world. Since its inception, 1st dibs.com has become a one-stop shopping phenomenon within the collecting community and a designer’s dream resource for the rare, unique and beautiful. The site features seating, lighting, tables, mirrors and other fine and decorative arts and has recently partnered with the AADLA and now incorporates some of the most distinguished antique and art dealers in the United States.
