COLUMBUS, OH.- The
Wexner Center is now accepting entries for the 14th annual Ohio Short Film & Video Showcase. The popular showcase provides Ohios independent media artists a chance to show their work in a theatrical setting before an audience. Last years crowd witnessed 18 short works by artists from across the state. Deadline for entries is Friday, March 27. The Showcase is Saturday, May 9 at 7 pm at the Wexner Center.
Pieces must be independently produced, no longer than 20 minutes, and produced in Ohio within the last 18 months. Entries must be submitted on 1/2 VHS videotape, mini-DV, or DVD. Any format of film or video may be submitted. Only one entry per person. Works submitted to previous showcases will not be accepted. Entry forms can be downloaded

As in previous years, a Youth Division of the Showcase for producers age 18 and younger will be held the same day. Pieces for the Youth Division must be independently produced, no longer than 10 minutes, and produced in Ohio within the last 18 months by an artist who will be 18 years of age or younger at the time of the May 9 showcase. here. This years Youth Division work will screen at 4:30 pm on May 9 and will include a reception. Prizes will be awarded to the top youth-produced work. In addition, up to five finalists from the Youth Division will be selected to receive a stipend from Cardinal Health to create a public service announcement on the issue of prescription drug abuse.
