2009 Scholastic Art Award Winners at The Nevada Museum of Art
RENO, NV.- The Nevada Museum of Art hosts the 2009 regional Scholastic Art Awards. The Scholastic Art Awards presents a wonderful opportunity for northern Nevada high school and junior high school students to showcase their artwork in a regional competition. Regional Gold Key winners and American Visions nominees will have the opportunity to submit their “live” artwork for a month-long exhibition at the Nevada Museum of Art. In addition to the exhibition, senior art portfolio submissions will be eligible for scholarships opportunities provided through the generous support of US Bank and Wild Women Artists. In 2009 the museum received over 1,000 entries.

The 2009 Scholastic Art Awards Ceremony takes place today, Saturday, February 14 / 10:30 am. Northern Nevada students submit more than 800 entries to the regional Scholastic Art Award competition annually, making them eligible for numerous regional and national awards, including scholarships supported by US Bank and the Wild Women organization. Attend the opening of The Scholastic Art Awards of 2009 and meet students as they celebrate their accomplishments. Admission to this event and to the opening of the exhibition is free. Seating and parking are both very limited, and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors open at 10 am. Major sponsorship for this event provided by US Bank.
