Artists Invited to Participate in Venice Carnevale 2009 Poster Contest
VENICE BEACH, CA.- Carnevale! Venice Beach is celebrating its 7th year on Saturday, June 6th at Windward Ave. and Venice Beach . Now artists everywhere will have the chance to win the prestigious Venice Carnevale Poster Contest and have their artistic vision be the face of 2009 Carnevale! Venice Beach .

Be creative, be Venetian, and show the world what we all love about Venice . Capture the essence of this wonderful culturally artistic community. The winner will receive a $500 cash prize. All entries must be received no later than Friday, May 1st 2009.

Posters should be 11” x 17”. Contestants may use watercolor, markers, ink, charcoal, pencil, crayon, acrylics, oil, computer generated graphics, original photographs or any other recognized artistic medium. However, the actual original artwork must be submitted mechanically (not as a computer file)

See website for rules prior to submitting art work. There is a submission entry fee of $10 payable by check or money order to cash. Contestants must mail submissions to: Carnevale! Venice Beach 2009 Poster Contest, c/o Dogtown Arts, 55 Rose Avenue ~ Venice , CA 90291 . All submissions must include Your Name; Home Address; Home Phone; Email Address and Title of Poster attached to or written on the back of the poster. Carnevale! is not responsible for incomplete, lost, late, stolen, illegible, postage due or misdirected entries. Submissions sent without entry fee will not be considered.

Submissions will be judged on originality, inspiration, and creativity of the poster. The idea is to capture the spirit of Venice and this year’s theme “Dreams of the Future”. Members of the Carnevale Committee will conduct judging. Decisions of judges are final. In the event of a tie, the most creative poster will win. All artwork must be properly submitted and meet all technical requirements to be considered.

Remember Carnevale! is a celebration of all that is Venice . Not just this wonderful artistic beach community, Venice is a state of mind. Embrace your inner artist. You can be the lucky winner of a $500 prize and see your artistic vision be the new face of Carnevale 2009! All entries must be received no later than Friday, May 1st 2009.
