Club Montecarlo - Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego's Annual Gala Takes Place in September
SAN DIEGO, CA.- The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego's 33rd annual Monte Carlo gala will be a night of high style-revelry on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at MCASD's oceanfront La Jolla location.

Selected by event chairs Nancy and Matt Browar, this year's theme -- Club Monte Carlo -- will transform the Museum's galleries into a multi-level club with an eco-chic feel, featuring live DJs, a sultry stage show, charity gaming tables, and many other surprises. All proceeds from the night's festivities will benefit the Museum's education programs and exhibitions.

Starting at 7 pm, gala guests will see and be seen at a stylish cocktail hour with champagne, specially crafted hors d'oeuvres, and a caviar and oyster bar, followed by dinner (featuring local sustainable cuisine by Waters Fine Catering) in the stunning private Dining Lounge.

Late night (from 9:30 pm to 1 am), step behind the velvet ropes for The After Party, where the bouncers call the shots at the door, and the dance floor is all yours. Take a break in the Zen-inspired Buddha Lounge, grab a breath of fresh air at the roaming oxygen bars, or double down with the high-rollers at the charity gaming tables, among many other surprises.

The Monte Carlo Gala - A Tradition in San Diego
Over the years, in part because of its unique and incomparable seaside setting, the Monte Carlo gala at MCASD has become one of the most popular events in San Diego and Southern California, and this year's event is sure to result in record support. The gala serves as the primary annual fundraiser for the Museum, and over the years has raised more than $5 million for MCASD's exhibitions and education programs.

Individual dinner tickets are $650 and $1,000; tables of 10 can be purchased for $6,500 and $10,000. Special "VIP" tables are also available for $25,000 and will feature such perks as tableside champagne and caviar service, bottle service at The After Party, and much more. To reserve individual tickets or tables, or for more information, please contact Lesley Emery at lemery@mcasd.org or 858 454 3541 x143.

Monte Carlo sponsorship is also a premiere way for companies to show their support for the arts. For corporate sponsorship and ticket information, please contact Merunisha Peel at mpeel@mcasd.org or 858 454 3541 x167.

2009 Monte Carlo Co-Chairs: Nancy and Matt Browar
Nancy and Matt Browar are avid collectors of contemporary art and long-time members of MCASD's Contemporary Collectors. Nancy currently serves as a member of the MCASD Board of Trustees. In 1984, the Browars established the M.S. Browar Development Corp., focused on real estate development and property management. They have resided in La Jolla for 20 years and have two children, Josh and Lauren.
