Dalí Universe Places Salvador Dalí Sculptures on Ski Slopes in Courchevel
The Salvador Dali bronze sculpture "Woman Aflame" being installed at Courchevel.
COURCHEVEL.- For the first time in Courchevel’s history, on the 5th of December 2009, The Stratton Foundation, the Dalí Universe and Bartoux Galleries, presented an exhibit of 14 imposing Dalí sculptures that transformed one of the most prestigious locations in the world into an open air museum. The sculptures placed in Courchevel are amongst the most famous iconographic images created by Dalí during his lifetime.

President of the Stratton Foundation, Mr. Beniamino Levi, is an avid art collector and to date, has successfully organized over 80 critically and publically acclaimed exhibitions, which have been seen by more than 10 million people around the world.

Seven monumental sculptures have been placed in the heart of Courchevel; two sculptures can be admired from the ski run, one of which is positioned at the top of Vizelle at 2659 meters altitude. The sculptures look over the beautiful view of Trois Vallees and all of Courchevel.

As well as Vizelle, there are sculptures at the top of Chenus at 2240 meters, in Place du Rocher, the tourist office square, the place du Forum and at la Croisette. There are also sculptures at the tourist office chalet, the Espace Diamant and Forum.

These imposing Dalí sculptures can be admired in this beautiful location until the 25th of April 2010.
