MIAMI, FL.- The art show that has established its name by curating cuttingedge contemporary art from around the world proudly returns to Miami for its eleventh year. Cementing its future with an 80,000 square foot pavilion SCOPE Miami’s high-profile venue is centrally located in the heart of the Wynwood Arts District. Running concurrently with Art Basel Miami, SCOPE’s Midtown Miami home is just steps from The Rubell family collection, Margulies Collection at the Warehouse and the Goldman Collection.

This year’s edition of SCOPE Miami, November 29th-December 4th, 2011, presents 80 international galleries upholding a unique tradition of solo and thematic group shows presented alongside museum-quality programming, collector tours, screenings, and special events. Returning galleries include: SPINELLO Projects(Miami), Jacob Karpio Galeria (San Jose), New Image Art (Los Angeles), Katharine Mulherin (Toronto | New York), PROGRAM (Warsaw), Christopher Henry Gallery (New York), Contemporary by Angela Li (Hong Kong), Civilian Art Projects (Washington DC) newcomers: Meulensteen (New York), Mallick Williams (New York), Plataforma de Arte Contemporaneo (Guadalajara), NOMAD Gallery (Brussels), Heiner Contemporary (Washington DC). Additionally, SCOPE is proud to announce The Argentine Section featuring 8 galleries, including returnee Pabellón 4 Contemporary Art.

Complementing this year’s international galleries, SCOPE Miami will feature a selection of special artist projects, including: a performance by United Emirates artist, CHOKRA; the installation, HELLO WORLD courtesy of artist Christopher Baker; and DB Burkman’s installation, STUCK UP, which features one of a kind stickers from artists like Matthew Barney, and Marilyn Minter to Kaws, and Skullphone. All three museum quality projects exemplify the thematic nature of history brought to life through art practice today.

SCOPE Miami is also proud to present New York’s Aperture Foundation, which will feature artists including Richard Mosse, Penelope Umbrico, Brian Ulrich and Hank Willis Thomas. Additionally, Miami-based Kiwi Arts Group presents a special exhibition of photographer William John Kennedy, featuring images of Andy Warhol and Robert Indiana from their emerging days prior to their fame as historical and celebrated artists.

The unique SCOPE Miami experience expands this year in partnership with cultural organizations, featuring: film, music, theatre and performance. “This season we want to highlight SCOPE’s lead role as creative R+D for a wider audience of taste makers who make art their business” says SCOPE President & Founder Alexis Hubshman. “Introducing artists, curators, and cutting-edge galleries to new international audiences has made SCOPE the most comprehensive destination for the emerging art world.
