MIAMI, FL.- Art Miami, LLC announces the launch of Art Wynwood for President's Day Weekend, February 16 - 20, 2012 in Miami. The five-day fair is scheduled to take place during Miami's busiest holiday weekend and will open with a VIP Private Preview on Thursday, February 16, 2012. This inaugural international Contemporary Art Fair will be held in the spacious 125,000 square foot Art Miami Pavilion located in Midtown Miami Wynwood Arts District.

Art Wynwood will feature carefully selected art dealers, showcasing curated indoor and outdoor projects, art video & new media, solo exhibitions and conceptual art. The Fair will continue to distinguish the Wynwood Arts District as Miami's epicenter where art, fashion, design and the culinary arts intersect.

"With the continued expansion of the Wynwood Arts District and Miami as a global hub for the art world, we are confident that Art Wynwood will fill a gap in the market, offering improved opportunities for our dealers and contemporary art collectors alike," said Fair Director and Partner, Nick Korniloff.

The fair will be comprised of approximately 70 international galleries with a strong focus on primary artists and select secondary market works. An advisory committee will be in place to assist in the vetting of gallery programs assuring that the quality of art will be on a similar level to Art Miami. Art Wynwood will continue to distinguish the Wynwood Arts District as a leading international cultural destination in Miami.

In an effort to launch the fair this coming year, Art Wynwood is providing extraordinary pricing for inaugural participating galleries including complimentary lighting and freight handling. “Participation costs are priced well below any of the other International Contemporary Art Fairs in America,” stated Korniloff. Applications are available online at www.art-wynwood.com.

“We are thrilled that we received a unanimous vote of confidence from both the Wynwood Art Dealers Association (WADA) and the Miami Art Dealers Association (MADA) in support of this new venture,” said Korniloff. “We are confident that through our proven track record, relationships with the international art market, and connection to the Miami community, Art Wynwood will provide a commercially successful show for all participating exhibitors and businesses.”

Art Wynwood, like Art Miami, will work with the local public and private institutions and collections along with the area’s non-profit groups. As the oldest art fair in the community, Art Miami has been more supportive than any other art fair to the local charities—and now MADA & WADA. “With the addition of Art Wynwood, the Wynwood Art District will continue to thrive well-after the five days of art fairs in December, continuing the district’s success through the rest of the year,” said WADA Board Member Bernice Steinbaum.

Art Wynwood will coincide with the 24th edition of the prestigious Miami International Yacht & Brokerage Show (located less than five miles from the Art Miami Pavilion), which transforms Collins Avenue into a multi-million dollar presentation of yachts and super-yachts. The Yacht and Brokerage show is known to attract qualified buyers from all over the U.S. as well as France, Brazil, China, Colombia, Russia, Argentina, Mexico, Italy and Sweden. This alignment will provide Art Wynwood dealers the opportunity to meet and service a new group of international collectors during the busiest holiday weekend in Miami.
