LONDON.- Bonhams, the international fine art auction house, has announced the appointment of Amelie von Bülow as the company’s new representative in Cologne with immediate effect.

For the last four years Amelie has worked as an expert in Contemporary Art for Kunsthaus Lempertz in Cologne where she gained a comprehensive expertise in contemporary art and invaluable knowledge of the German auction market.

Prior to that she was with the Alison Jaques Gallery in London, working on client acquisitions and sales. She also acquired experience in working for national and international auction houses.

Her in-depth understanding of the auction and gallery markets together with the ability to value accurately a wide range of contemporary art will add to Bonhams expertise in Northern Germany.

Amelie graduated with an MA in History of Art with Law at the University of Hamburg, after successful studies in Göttingen and in Venice, the main focus being on modern and contemporary art.

Matthew Girling, Bonhams CEO for Europe and the Middle East, comments: “We are delighted to announce Amelie’s appointment and welcome her to Bonhams. Her appointment will further strengthen our German team. Her role will be key to winning items for sale in London, New York and Hong Kong, as well as raising our profile in this crucial European art market.”

Amelie von Bülow comments: "I'm thrilled about this exciting challenge. It gives me great pleasure to be involved in the further development of the German market of this long-established auction house, to which I can bring my energy and my specialist knowledge. I look forward to liaising with clients from my homeland and offering them our expertise and services as an international market leader. "
