Heritage Weekly Comics Auction sets new house record mark with $200,000+ total
An Incredible Hulk #1 realized: $7,767.
DALLAS, TX.- If further proof was needed the market for vintage comic books and original comic book art is white hot, Heritage Auctions provided it in Sunday night, Aug. 26, as the company’s Weekly Sunday Internet Comics Auction set a new house record with a total of $216,108.

The auction featured 698 bidders vying for 874 lots in the sale, translating into a perfect sell-through rate of 100%.

“We have more 1960s Marvel collections in our weekly sales than ever before, and every week we have major key issues like Amazing Fantasy #15,” said Barry Sandoval, Director of Operations of the Comics and Comic Art division of Heritage. “We’ve sold 10 Amazing Fantasy #15s in the last 11 weeks in our Internet auctions alone and, for anyone trying to assemble complete Marvel runs, the next few months’ Sunday Auctions will present an ideal opportunity to do so.”

The final total of $216,108 realized was the best result ever for a weekly comics auction at Heritage. The top lot was a copy of Spider-Man’s first appearance in Amazing Fantasy #15 (1962) that realized $11,353.
