Interactive Product-Inspired Exhibit Launched

BALTIMORE, MD.- Artwork Mbilishaka (AM Radio) announced today a recent partnership with Scion to host its first-ever LOCATION--an interactive art exhibit, infusing the raw elements of urban life with technology, art, and of course, Scion cars. Entitled, “Giving Birth to Dreams,” LOCATION is a transformation of space into an automotive experience. The exhibit goes live March 22, and continues through April 19, in swanky Mount Vernon at 17 West Chase Street in Baltimore.

“More and more, consumer-based companies are realizing the impact urban trendsetters have on our economy,” said Rodney Herring, AM Radio founder and LOCATION project director. “LOCATION is not only an opportunity for Scion to reach a broad audience of art lovers who influence the most popular urban trends; it also gives local artists a chance to share their works. Everything we see around us is inspired by art, but this concept is not always obvious to the masses. LOCATION bridges the mental divide and illustrates the direct affects of art on life.”

AM Radio, a subsidiary of Mosi Design Group, is a collective of visual artists, whose mission is to infuse the raw elements of sound and texture to inspire life. The creative process incorporates the work of artists and DJs to paint large compositions before live audiences. With each painting taking approximately four hours to complete, the technique is a challenge of graphic resourcefulness. It compresses the creative experience into spontaneous reactions of time, space and energy—a result that captures the mood, sound and electricity of the environment. This is the process by which AM Radio has created LOCATION.

In addition to the interactive art exhibit, AM Radio will sponsor a “Giving Birth to Dreams” shoe drive to benefit Baltimore-based nonprofit, The Carmelo Anthony Youth Development Center. Throughout the duration of LOCATION, AM Radio will accept new shoe and sneaker donations. As an incentive to donate shoes, urban sneaker designer, Grand High has agreed to raffle off a pair of customized sneakers at the closing event on April 12th.

Other exclusive events include a media-only reception March 20; Grand Opening – March 22, Secret Location Events, Money Earnin’ Mount Vernon – April 5, and a closing event, April 12. The gallery will be open to the public on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from noon to 7pm and on Saturday from 11am to 5pm thru April 19th.
