Fine Art Asia 2012 introduces renowned galleries and forges new partnerships

HONG KONG.- Fine Art Asia 2012 will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from Thursday 4th to Sunday 7th October 2012. As the only major international fine art fair in Asia, over 20,000 visitors are expected to attend from across the Asia region and around the world.

Reflecting the rising influence of and interest in the Asian art market, Fine Art Asia displays the finest in Asian and International Antiques, Drawings and Prints, Maps and Books, Scholars’ Objects, Furniture, Fine Jewellery, Clocks and Watches, Antique Silver, Decorative Art, Porcelain and Ceramics, Textiles and Tapestries, as well as Modern and Contemporary Artworks including Paintings, Sculptures and Furniture, from over 100 carefully-selected local and international galleries.

Strongest-ever International Line-up and Special Projects
Now in its 8th edition, Fine Art Asia promises the strongest presentation of antiques and fine art this year. This year Fine Art Asia moves into the category of Design Furniture, Novalis Contemporary Art (Italy) will be staging in the fair the first ever 20th Century Italian Design Furniture Exhibition in Asia. An exclusive preview of the exhibition will be co-presented by Fine Art Asia and K11, from 1st to 30th September at K11 Art Mall, the world’s first art mall. The exhibition will feature furniture by some of the masters of modern design such as Etorre Sottsass, Gaetano Pesce, Merret Oppenheim, Studio 65 and George Nelson. These masterpieces will move to Fine Art Asia after the preview period at K11.

A French Pavilion, presented by the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macau, will bring different experiences of both contemporary and fine art originating from this centre of cultural creation, to Fine Art Asia 2012.

Exciting Partnership Programs
Fine Art Asia has developed an extensive partnership programme for the 2012 edition. The world's oldest French fine cognac house Martell will sponsor an exclusive VIP lounge at the fair to present the world's most precious cognac L'or de Jean Martell, featuring luxurious tasting sessions for the fair's VIP.

American Express Centurion Card and Cathay Pacific’s Diamond Marco Polo Club members entered another year of partnership to promote Asia's leading international fine art fair to their selected discerning members.

Luxury boutique hotel The Upper House Hong Kong continues its role as The Official Hotel Partner for the second year running. In September, Fine Art Asia will present a preview exhibition in the hotel curated by renowned art curator Calvin Hui.

Fine Art Asia continues to give back to the community. Young talent from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and HK Art School will showcase their art creations in booths sponsored by Fine Art Asia. The fair is also delighted to donate a booth to the Hong Kong Cancer Fund which will run an exhibition featuring a group of Hong Kong artists, followed by a charity auction with proceeds going to the Hong Kong Cancer Fund to support their free breast cancer services. Fine Art Asia will also contribute all the ticketing income to both the Hong Kong Cancer Fund and the Hong Kong Society for Protection of Children.
