Stella Contemporary launches online gallery to promote artists from the Malmö-Copenhagen area
By using the potential of digital media for the reproduction of space, time and audio, Stella Contemporary's ambition is to bring the real-life experience of the presented artworks and exhibitions out into an international context to be accessed anywhere.
ODENSE.- Stella Contemporary announces the launch of its new online gallery for contemporary art on Tuesday the 21th August 2012! The gallery has its headquarters on stellacontemporary.com and also presents artists and artworks in pop-up exhibitions around the local area. In the web-gallery, the exhibitions are documented, artists and virtual exhibitions are presented and artworks can be bought online.

At its launch, Stella Contemporary concentrates on artists from the Malmő-Copenhagen area. We hereby weight sustainability at several levels, reducing transport and supporting local artists. The gallery sells artworks of high artistic quality, spanning many different artistic media, forms of expression and formats, which are presented online and in temporary solo- and group exhibitions. The gallery is run by KKArt and opens, apart from the branch in Malmo, a division in Copenhagen in the autumn.

By using the potential of digital media for the reproduction of space, time and audio, Stella Contemporary's ambition is to bring the real-life experience of the presented artworks and exhibitions out into an international context to be accessed anywhere. The atmosphere of a physical exhibition gives the visitor an impression of what the artworks will look like in their home, a gallery or an art institution. With the wide selection of formats and price classes, private persons as well as collectors and institutions can find something to suit them.

Stella Contemporary's exhibition format is expansive. New artists are continuously added to the virtual exhibition. At the launch, we are showing a broad selection of young Malmő artists from the gallery program, ranging from the minute and fragile organic motives in Madelene Oldeman's prints and the photographic meditations on the nature of time by Bjőrn Olsson to Fredrik Weerasinghe's simultaneously beautiful and scary gene manipulated plants and the 'musical objects' by Jan Cardell, to name a few examples. Join the Newsletter at get updated on the new artists, or visit the virtual exhibition on stellacontemporary.com where the works are also for sale.
Stella Contemporary is also on Twitter, Facebook and Google.
