AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND.- The Aucland Museum of Art presents Handboek: Ans Westra Photographs from 19 March - 15 May 2005. A major retrospective of the work of Ans Westra, one of New Zealand's best known and most debated documentary photographers. Westra, born in Holland, and living in New Zealand since 1957, has captured 45 years of ordinary New Zealanders 'just being themselves' at work and play. The exhibition offers viewers the unique experience of walking through a giant family photo album. Through the photographs we can see what we wore, how we did our hair, how we danced, sang, played sport and engaged in other daily rituals.
