Call for Entries for Get It Off Your Chest
SANTA ANA, CA.- The Orange County Center for Contemporary Art, announces a Call for Entries for its Get It Off Your Chest exhibition. Exhibition dates, April 1 through May 1, 2005. Entries are due February 24, 2005. “Get It Off Your Chest: Get It Off Your Chest” is about creating a discussion of attitudes and issues concerning breasts. They mean so many different things to different people and for better or worse; they receive an inordinate amount of attention from both men and women. The aim of the show is to explore the feelings of people toward their own breasts and to use the attention that this subject matter seems to draw automatically, in order to present a more varied view of breasts and to present a perspective that does not fit the stereotypes that are most often seen and heard in contemporary consumer society. This show seeks to give voice to points of view other than those advanced by Anheuser Busch and Clear Channel Communications. Whether it is Janet Jackson's pierced revelation or another lawsuit over botched plastic surgery. If it is about breasts, we all want to see.
