LONDON, ENGLAND.-TheSpace@inIVA presents Omer Fast, on view through October 23, 2005. Omer Fast is becoming one of the most innovative video artists working today. Born in Jerusalem, now living in Berlin, Fast's work has explored themes such as the narrative of television news reportage and Hollywood's treatment of social history.
In his first UK exhibition, Godville is constructed from interviews with eighteenth century character - interpreters in Colonial Williamsburg, a living-history museum in Virginia, USA. The piece presents portraits from a town somewhere in America unmoored and floating between the past and the present.
TBSP - The Blair Switch Project, a new public sited work commissioned by inIVA explores the archive and screen as sites for collective experience.
