NAPLES, FL.- The von Liebig Art Center presents 3 Women of Merit: 45th Founders Award Winners, on view through August 26. Bettina Edwards, Pat Kumicich and Doris Ramos who won the top awards in last falls Founders show will exhibit new works in photography, paintings and contemporary quilts. Edwards is a Bonita Springs resident who worked as a psychotherapist for many years before being bitten by the photography bug. She travels internationally and throughout Florida taking her abstract, representational and in-between photos. Kumicich, who lives in Naples , is known for her award-winning art quilts, which are easily recognized by their vibrant colors. Her work has appeared in numerous exhibits and publications throughout the United States . Many of Kumicichs quilts hang in private collections in both the United States and Europe . Now a Naples resident, Ramos is a native of Venezuela who was commissioned to paint portraits of President Jaime Lusinchi of Venezuela , President Julio Maria Sanguinetti of Uruguay , and King Juan Carlos I of Spain , among others. She painted on air for the weekly Venezuelan television show Con Emilio and has won numerous art awards in her home country. In the past few years, she has exhibited throughout Florida.
