TRENT, ITALY.- The official announcement of the third edition of the International Prize for Performance is out. The event is curated by the Galleria Civica di Arte Contemporanea of Trento, in collaboration with centrale FIES. The announcement is open to artists, or group of artists, of all nationalities, originating from all formative backgrounds (visual arts, dance, theater, music, poetry), born from January 1st, 1972. The first prize of 5,000 (five thousand) euros will be granted to the winner by an international jury. Other minor prizes will also be awarded. The international jury is composed of Jimmie Durham, (artist, Jury President), Giacinto Di Pietrantonio (art critic and Artistic Director of Galleria di Arte Moderna e Contemporanea of Bergamo), Rune Gade (Associate Professor at Department of Arts and Cultural Studies, University of Copenhagen), An-Marie Lambrechts (Artistic Director of Toneelhuis Theater, Antwerp), David Weinstein (Director of Programs of P.S.1, New York), Barbara Boninsegna (Artistic Director of drodesera FIES), Fabio Cavallucci (Artistic Director of Galleria Civica di Arte Contemporanea di Trento).
How to participate: Applications must include all materials, as specified in the official announcement, and be sent via email to performance@galleriacivica.it (posted materials will not be accepted). The expiration date for the application form and materials is fixed at 12:00 AM on Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007 (Italian time).
