Molder Lisa Truax.
LANSING, MI.- CaSpect presents: Lansing Artery 1 sporadically occupying spaces in the name of art, culture and spectacle, August 25th-26th, 2007: 2:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. September 1st-2nd, 2007: 2:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. The Capital Area Spectacle (CaSpect.org) is an eclectic collective composed of creative able-minded individuals hailing from the Lansing Capital Area and beyond. This loose organization of artists, technology professionals, designers, MSU/LCC students and alumni, have come together in cooperation with local business and property owners to revitalize the city and instantiate art, culture, and spectacle.

The Lansing Artery project (LanArt.org) is an exercise in creating alternative exhibition spaces. Lansing Artery 1 will be CaSpect’s first in a series of events aimed at challenging contemporary concepts of expression and the arts. For 4 days Lansing Artery 1 will be open to the public at Basement 414. This premier event will feature more than 30 visual artists working in sculpture, painting, ceramic, audio-visual, and mixed disciplines, as well as musical performances, poetry reading and improvisation. Set lists of performances will only be available immediately preceding events.
