NEW YORk, NY. In preparation for PULSE Contemporary Art Fair to enter its fifth season, Director Helen Allen today announced the list of current exhibitors for the Fair’s inaugural edition at its new venue in Downtown Miami, the historic Art Deco building known as The Ice Palace. PULSE Miami 2009 will continue to showcase a dynamic and geographically diverse group of established and emerging galleries, with an exhibitor list that features over 80 galleries from 18 different countries.

Having strengthened its place as the leading US art fair dedicated solely to contemporary art, second in Miami only to Art Basel Miami Beach, PULSE will remain the anchor of the Downtown and Wynwood area. The area, which PULSE was among the first to pioneer, will once again host a vast number of events for collectors and the public alike.

This year’s edition of the Fair will boast more than fifty returning exhibitors, many of which have exhibited at several editions of PULSE in both Miami and New York. Among the returning galleries are Galerie Ernst Hilger from Vienna; Postmasters, Winkleman Gallery, and Yossi Milo Gallery, from New York; Nina Menocal from Mexico City; Galerie Anita Beckers from Frankfurt; Conrads from Duesseldorf; Fred from London; Rena Bransten Gallery from San Francisco; Conner Contemporary from Washington, D.C; and Angles Gallery from Santa Monica.

PULSE will also welcome 18 newcomers including, La Industria from San Juan, Puerto Rico; M+B from Los Angeles; Nieves Fernández from Madrid; Open Gallery from London, and Lyle O. Reitzel from Miami and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

On Friday, December 4, 2009, the PULSE Prize will be awarded in honor of Adriaan Van der Have, Founder and Director of Torch Gallery who passed away this spring. The Fair will also present its signature series of programs including the installations and large-scale sculpture program, PULSE Performance, and PULSE Play>.
