Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art's Co-Executive Directors Retire
BOULDER, CO.- On October 7, 2009 after nearly five years of service to the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Arts (BMoCA), Co-Executive Directors Penny Barnow and Joan Markowitz have announced their plans to end their tenures by year’s end.

BMoCA presents three contemporary art exhibit cycles per year, hosts artist talks and community events, has an extensive summer calendar of educational offerings for children, and year-round art programming for adults titled ARTcore.

“As a result of their leadership, BMoCA has enjoyed a period of financial stability, physical redevelopment, programming expansion, and a vital exhibition schedule,” said BMoCA Board President Tracy Jennings.

In announcing the retirement plans of the current Executive Directors, Jennings also announced the search for a new Executive Director is underway. “We are looking for an individual to lead BMoCA into our next phases of growth, someone who can further the creative and financial success we aim to continue,” she said.

The Executive Director search is open until October 30, 2009. Applications of interested individuals can be mailed to BMoCA at 1750 13th Street, Boulder, CO, 80302, to the attention of the search committee chairman.

The Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art is a dynamic venue dedicated to the presentation of significant art of our time. Through an innovative program of regional, national and international exhibition and performance, the museum inspires and educates its community and visitors from around the world to explore the forefront and evolution of contemporary art.
