Ferrari, Glenn Kaino, Ellsowrth Kelly, and Michael Dweck-Just some of the events at Art Basel Miami
Photographer Michael Dweck will sign copies of his book Habana Libre at Base.
MIAMI BEACH, FL.- Art Basel Miami's tenth edition will hold several not to be missed events. Visitors to the art fair will have many options where to view art and party. Here are some of them:

American photographer Michael Dweck's personal exploration of Cuba, reflected in his most recent release, Habana Libre, will be presented at Base, 939 Lincoln Road in South Beach. Michael Dweck will be present signing books and then will head to Haven Lounge for an after party where photographs from Habana Libre will be experienced through sight and sound with music by Mark Leventhal.

Ferrari, Peter M. Brant and Sotheby’s Tobias Meyer will hold a private party in honor of Ferrari’s Chairman, Luca di Montezemolo, on Tuesday, November 29th.

The party will be held at 3 Indian Creek Island Road in Miami Beach, Florida, beginning at 8:30 PM. The evening, hosted by Interview, will include the unveiling of the new Ferrari 458 Spider; a premiere screening of RPM, the new 3D video installation by artist Marco Brambilla; and a surprise musical guest.

The line between man and machine is blurred in Marco Brambilla’s latest 3D video collage. Commissioned by Ferrari S.p.A., RPM presents a compelling psychological portrait of a Formula One driver’s point-of-view during a race.

RPM was photographed by Brambilla at the Italian Formula One Grand Prix in Monza, then processed in his signature style; Images from the Scuderia Ferrari archives as well as race broadcasts and film clips were sampled to create an abstract and kaleidoscopic series of images which seamlessly unfold before us in 3D space.

The result is a kinetic, ever-accelerating series of video loops that accelerate as the subject approaches his own internal “terminal velocity”. A Formula One driver’s state of consciousness is connected to the machine that propels him at speeds of up to 200 MPH. The resulting visual collage functions much like a driver’s subjective peripheral vision. Brambilla states: “I wanted to capture the sense of being on the very threshold of the limits of control – the feeling of euphoria and danger which are equally present in the mental state of a driver during a race”.

________

Los Angeles-based artist Glenn Kaino will present his art installation at Art Public for Art Basel Miami Beach on the evening of Wednesday, November 30th, 2011, and will be on display until Sunday, December 4, 2011. This year, Art Basel Miami Beach is collaborating with the Bass Museum of Art located in Collins Park where Kaino's artwork will be presented (2100 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, FL).

________

UBS will feature the work of renowned American painter and sculptor Ellsworth Kelly in the UBS Lounge and in all sponsorship communications. The work selected from the UBS Art Collection, a 1972 collage on paper titled Spectrum, reflects the artist’s deep observation of color and is an example of the simple forms and shapes made up of intense monochrome color fields that characterize much of Kelly’s work. The UBS Art Collection consists of more than 35,000 objects by artists ranging from today’s emerging talents to some of the most important artists of the last 50 years.
