Christie's International announces the launch of its newly upgraded mobile applications
All users of web-enabled cell phones and personal digital assistants (PDAs), will enjoy a series of additional features.
NEW YORK, N.Y.- In keeping with its ongoing expansion of its online and mobile access strategy, Christie’s International launches its newly upgraded mobile applications, enhancing the Christie’s digital experience for a global audience of mobile device users. Christie’s also announces that the newly upgraded app is now available for use on the Android.

All users of web-enabled cell phones and personal digital assistants (PDAs), will enjoy a series of additional features, including the ability to submit online absentee bids, track lots, register to bid and more. These free applications will be made available to the one million plus unique visitors to Christies.com each month via www.christies.com, the company’s Facebook and Twitter audiences, and to visitors of the iTunes App Store and Android App Stores.

Michael O’Neal, Director of Digital Media at Christie’s, comments: “These newly integrated features equip Christie’s clients with an expanded set of tools to register and bid on an extensive range of offerings, including fine art, jewels, watches, decorative objects, furniture, and fine wines.

As our global audience grows increasingly reliant on mobile communication devices to stay connected, our “Christie’s everywhere” strategy ensures access to the entire auction catalogue from anywhere in the world, at any time, and on any platform. Our expanded range of mobile applications takes advantage of new features across the ever-evolving mobile landscape.”

The Christie’s iPhone and Android Apps were developed in partnership with Kargo, the leading mobile publisher network. Kargo delivers industry recognized mobile technology and award winning integrated marketing opportunities across its network of major media mobile web sites, native applications and messaging campaigns. With the Christie’s apps you can:

*Lot Search: Search for upcoming lots to find the items that fit your taste and interests.

*View Saved Interests: Once you have results from a search, and you’ve narrowed it to what you want, there will be a “prompt” to Save an Interest. Clicking a button will add these characteristics to your list of Interests. Christie’s will notify you by email when items that match your interest are included in an upcoming sale.

*Lot / Sale Tracking: Use your account to track upcoming sales and lots, and receive alerts before your selected items go under the hammer.

*Lot Audio Highlights: View Christie’s upcoming highlights accompanied by descriptions by Christie’s experienced team of international specialists.

*Featured Articles / Video: See content exclusive to Christie’s encompassing everything from specialist profiles to interviews with world renowned tastemakers, available only by visiting Christies.com or using the Christie’s App.

*In Person/LIVE Registration: Before you can bid on an item, you must register for the sale. Now, it is possible to do this using the Christie’s Apps, whether you plan to attend the sale and bid in person or if you would prefer to bid remotely with Christie’s LIVE™.

*Online Absentee Bids: If you are unable to attend an auction, simply place an absentee bid at least 24 hours before the sale and a Christie’s auctioneer will bid on the item for you.
