NEW YORK.- The Museum of Modern Art presents New Work/New Acquisitions, on view through September 26, 2005. New Work/New Acquisitions presents approximately twenty works of art, all recently acquired by The Museum of Modern Art and primarily created since 2001. The exhibition focuses on works acquired through the Museum’s Fund for the Twenty-First Century—a Trustee fund committed to purchasing contemporary work for MoMA by emerging artists—along with recent highlights from all of the Museum’s curatorial departments. These works appear in several locations throughout the Museum, including the third floor special exhibitions gallery and the second floor Film and Media Gallery, and includes paintings, sculptures, prints, drawings, photographs, media works, design objects, and architectural models. An international group of artists is featured, including Fang Lijun, Rivane Neuenschwander, Paul Chan, and Neo Rauch. In addition, a selection of recent film and media acquisitions is presented in The Roy and Niuta Titus Theaters during July, August, and September, including films by Alexander Sokurov, Eija-Liisa Ahtila, and Laurence Attali.

Organized by Klaus Biesenbach, P.S.1 Chief Curator and Curator, Department of Film and Media; and Ann Temkin, Curator of Painting and Sculpture.
