Kivelanranta Housing Area International Idea Competition

JYVASKYLA, FINLAND.- The city of Jyväskylä is organizing an open, international ideas competition for the Kivelänranta residential area, to be constructed on a neck of land between the Tuomiojärvi and Palokkajärvi lakes. The area will be a northwest extension of the Taulumäki district in the center of Jyväskylä.

Because of the central location and noteworthy natural value of the area, particular emphasis is laid on its development. The purpose of the competition is to create a pleasant area with its own identity, combining a residential area of innovative and sustainable elements with the surrounding nature.

All electronic competition material is available for download on the official webpages http://www.jkl.fi/lang/competition

The competition will be judged by 21 February 2007. All those involved in the winning and purchased entries will be notified immediately. The results will be announced to the media in a ceremony on 28 February 2007.

The jury’s report on the results of the competition will be available on the official website following the announcement ceremony. All entries will be exhibited in Jyväskylä on 1–15 March 2007, at a location yet to be decided.
